Katie has been nursing since 2005, starting her career in Intensive Care. In 2013 she trained to be a Health Visitor at South Bank University and also immediately realised a passion for working with and supporting the most marginalised members of our society. She soon took up a post with The Family Recovery Project in Wandsworth which was an innovative multi-agency service which worked intensively alongside a small number of complex families focusing on treating the root causes of social breakdown rather than dealing only with its symptoms. Following the decommissioning of this service a natural step was to move across into working with homeless families. Katie now supports the many families in Wandsworth who are experiencing homelessness, aiming to respond flexibly to the needs of a mobile and vulnerable caseload. The role involves direct delivery of The Healthy Child Programme, safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults, partnership working and health advocacy.
